The Life Teen Podcast is attached. Readings for the Fifth Sunday of Lent: Jer 31:31-34; Ps 51:3-4, 12-13, 14-15; Heb 5:7-9; Jn 12:20-33.
“”Then a voice came from heaven,’I have glorified it and will glorify it again'” (John 12:28, NAB). Why would this be the third time when God would let us hear his voice (1st at the Baptism in the Jordan and the 2nd at the Transfiguration)? Jesus gives us the answer, “Jesus answered and said, ‘This voice did not come for my sake but for yours. Now is the time of judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world – will be driven out” (John 12:28-30, NAB). So why is it important for those at that time, and us, to hear his voice at this time? Why does God do this for our sake? Christ is the way we know God, the Father. The more we are connected to Christ, the more we are connected to God and be able to hear God’s voice. How we know Christ more intimately is through the Word and the Eucharist. Dive deeply into the scriptures and ponder the Word of God and thank Christ for the gift of the Eucharist.” (Mark Hart)
This podcast is an excellent foundation for a weekly Bible study focused on the readings throughout the liturgical year. These Bible studies can be at the parish, at a coffee shop or even on-line.
